Chez OHNOYOUDIDN'T

Insinuating that a lady is a cougar is extremely offensive. Yes, even if it's true.

***** Review posted on 2/26/2013

I don't usually do reviews, but I had such a terrible experience at this restaurant, I felt it my duty to let the public know what kind of people they have working there.

So last Thursday I decide I'll treat myself to a nice dinner out. Well, it was clear from the get-go that they weren't used to an attractive older woman dining alone because they looked shocked when I asked for a table for one.

Anyway, I sit down and ask the waiter for a recommendation for a good wine. Something with blackberry and plum favors, perhaps? Or maybe something with fig, elderberry and clove that pairs well with salmon or other grilled meats.

What happened next caught me so off guard, I didn't know what to say. He said, "I think a Cougar Crest Syrah would be PERFECT for you." And then he winked. I was stunned, and very offended to say the least. And if it wasn't for those bacon and truffle aromas, as well as his masterfully sculpted 20-year-old physique, I'd have a mind to go back and tell him so.

Features

2007 Estate Grown Syrah, Walla Walla Valley 750ml

The Cougar Crest estate vineyard Syrah has been highly rated and recognized as one of the best in the world.  Rich, full-bodied flavors of plum jam, berries, spice, coriander, and a hint of white pepper have a smooth mouth feel.  Wonderful notes of mocha, fruit, and spice entwine in the long finish.  Experience the best that Washington can offer.

2007 Reserve Syrah, Cougar Hills Vineyard, Walla Walla Valley 750ml

Cougar Crest Estate Winery makes Reserve wine only when we decide we have a unique lot of wine that rises above all the others.  These Reserves usually have the longest hang time and are barrel aged longer to concentrate the flavors.  It is not unusual for Reserves to be bottle aged for more than a year. Characterized by depth and complexity without overripe jammy flavors, this Syrah exhibits fig, elderberry, plum, clove, pepper, and a lingering smokiness.  Cougar Crest suggests pairing with salmon, grilled meats, or truffle oil.

2007 Golden’s Legacy Syrah, Walla Walla Valley 750ml

Blackberry, plum and blueberry aromas inundate your senses while spices like cardamom, cloves, and white pepper release their aromas.  These layers of flavors come together on the palate with mature tannins, subtle acidity and a lush mouth feel.  The flavors linger on the long finish with tobacco leaf, pepper and spice.

  • Alcohol: 13.7%
  • pH: 3.64
